Palmariggi, only 8 km from Otranto, is a jewel of the Salento countryside.

Thanks to its ideal geographic position it’s a perfect starting point for visiting the main artistic and cultural attractions of the area: Lecce, Galatina, Otranto, Gallipoli.

Palmariggi is also an ancient town that has kept the peace and character of the old days. It’s a “bubble in time” where one can rediscover a different pace of life and quality of human relationships..

The heart of the town is a delightful square dominated by an imposing baroque church and the remains of an old castle. The quiet streets of the historic centre are dotted with mansions in Lecce stone.

For those who love cycling, a comfortable cycle track meanders in the surrounding countryside and there are many cycling routes in the area. However, for the more "well trained" bikers , the coastal road to Santa Maria di Leuca is an excurtion not to be missed for its beautiful landscapes.

Palmariggi is located on the via Francigena, with many trekking trails for you to enjoy.

If you want to enjoy summer town life, in only 10 minutes you can be in Otranto, the pearl of Salento, with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants.

Some of the best known Adriatic beach resorts are only a few kilometers away: Otranto, Baia dei Turchi, Alimini beach. Slightly further North are Torre dell’Orso, San Foca and the famous Grotta della Poesia.

The rocky coastline of Porto Badisco and Santa Cesarea Terme, famous for its sulphurous waters, are also within easy reach.

The popular Ionian beaches are connected via the Maglie-Leuca highway.
